Kitchen photos

These photos go together the strongest out of my kitchen photos. The repetition of the vertical angle helps draw out a narrative rather then distract with different point of views. I also thought it created nice geometric forms.

I love how these abstract the portrait. Often head shots can be cheesy or too bluntly in your face. I really don't think a middle class white college student is the most fascinating subject and they didn't try and make it that way.

Scanner photo project

For my scanner self portrait project I made a series of sill life images. They are simple very geometric compositions. I wanted an impossibly black back round which just so happens to be possible through scanning. This background helps make the colors of the subject and the reflections pop. I've always thought of a still life to be very much a self portrait in that the artist picks and arranges the subjects exactly how they see fitting. It can reflect many emotions that the artist is feeling at the time and many times more accurately then a typical portrait. These photos hopefully show a sense of isolation from its surrounding. A feeling of being placed in a seemingly infinite backdrop with only a few fleeting minutes before rotting away all the while being stuck in my grandmas dish.

Best photo ever... on golden mean project

I really like the statuesque figure looking back to where we departed. Im also pleased with the two contradicting horizon lines.

Here is one of the more abstract screen shots. I love how simple it is and how true the red and the black are. The grain of the TV are very present and are doing a strange swirling.

Golden Means

This is my first digital contact sheet ever. I love shooting digital because it allows to take pictures of everything with out spending allot of money. These are photos of two very different subjects one is of a trip to block island for the hurricane this past friday and the other is of my TV I played around with the wires and it came out pretty weird looking with random figures showing up that weren't even in the movie.
